Tim Burton used "The Corpse Bride" to describe or convey tone and mood. He did this by the sound, color, clothes, and lighting. In the "The Corpse Bride" he descried the groom to very clumsy and confused. After the rehearsal his mood was sad because he didn't have the proper tone. Tone is the way somebody says something as an indicator of what that person is feeling or thinking. Mood is somebody's state of mind. The mood of the movie was basicially is the anger and confusement of the characters in which Tim Burton used.

  2. Alissa Hochman period 7 said: Tim Burton made the movie “The Corpse Bride” very sad and depressing. For example, the lighting was dark colors, such as, purple and black. The mood was depressing and sad. The costumes were tuxedos, dark and ripped dresses. The colors that were used were orange, yellow and then dark colors like purple, black and grey. Fortunately, there were a few parts that were light with some happiness. Specifically, the ending was very happy. But then the rest was depressing. The sound that was played was the piano and singing. The sounds were depressing, creepy and sad.

  3. Jacee Cappelli Period 7- "The Corpse Bride" by Tim Burton is a extremely creepy and morbid animated movie. Tim Burton created this by using various techniques. For example, the whole movie, there really isn't any use of bright colors. Its all grey, black, and dark colors. So you get the feel that the movie isn't suppose to be entirely happy and that its suppose to be creepy. another example is the faces of the people in the movie. The dead and alive peoples faces were scary. They had looks to them that were disturbing and when they smiled it wasn't one of those "actual happy" smiles. Some of the parts in the movie were a bit happier then others. Like when you can tell the main character and Victoria have fallen in love, that was like the happiest part. But even though it was a creepy movie, i really liked it because horror movies are my favorite and "The Corpse Bride" was pretty close to one.

  4. The mood of the movie, “The Corpse Bride”, directed by Tim Burton, had an overall dark, eerie and scary mood. Outfits, colors and sounds enhanced the feelings trying to be transferred throughout the movie in a way that it became clearer what the overall message of the movie was. Burton distorted people’s images to make the people have a very pale complexion with large extremities, such as large heads, hands and hair, to make them look even sicklier. Many characters, such as Victor (main character) had dark circles under their eyes to make them look unhealthy and particularly frightened. The setting of the living world had a very dull color pallet while the underworld had a very bright and cheery colored theme, which made the scenes that took place there seem light and happy. When Victor was playing piano at Victoria’s house, it was slow and quiet, creating a gloomy effect; when Victor and Emily (corpse bride) played piano in the underworld, it was fast, loud and dance-like which made the people in the movie seem a lot more playful and loving than they were portrayed as. By choosing specific colors, costumes and sounds, movies can be changed in a very dramatic way.

  5. Matthew Miles period 7- The mood of the "Corpse Bride" is very dark and eerie and a scary mood. The overall message of the movie is told through these colors and mood. Burton used different types of bodies for people to really represent people. For example victor is skinny because he has a very nervous personality. Victoria's father is fat therefore showing his personality is very strict and mean and very full of himself. Also the characters appearance was very dark portraying the kind of mood they were in. Also i noticed that the alive's world was dark and the dead's world was bright. As you can see mood can affect a movie in many sort of ways. They can be good or bad ways.

  6. In the movie "The Corpse Bride", directed by Tim Burton, the mood was dark and bloodcurdling. The colors of everything was dark. Unlike in cheery movies where the colors are bright and happy. Also in the beginning when Victor and his parents first arrived at Victoria’s house he started playing the piano. The song he was playing seemed very depressing and eerie. The place where the dead people lived was very creepy. The people who lived there weren't exactly they type of characters that would be put into a kids show. They looked scary in a way. Tim Burton effectively represented the mood of this movie.

  7. Chris G period 7- When Tim Burton made the movie "The Corpe's Bride", based on the story, he wanted the viewer to feel creeped out and spooked. The colors in the movie were dark and plain, which set the mood to creepy. It also helped when he created the character's like victor pale with old fashioned clothes. All the music that was played was either sad, angry or dark, so it set the mood to even more eerie. When watching the movie, i noticed that when victor was in the underworld it seemed that the colors were a little brighter, which gave the thought that the dead side was better. When bad things happened (Basically the whole movie), Burton included lightning to represent scared and spooky. The english accents given to the characters did actually make the movie seem more eerie than happy. Tim Burton did a great job setting the dark and scary mood throughout the entire movie.

  8. In The movie " The Corps Bride" The main mood in the movie was dark sad and scary. The main colors were black and gray. You could feel that this was a sad and depressing movie because all the colors were dark when in a lot of other movies the color are bright. A lot of directors try to put a mood in their movie. If they want it to be the movie to be a happy or a sad movie they involed the kind of music that follow that mood. for example once the family got at Victorias house he started playing the piano but it wasn't a happy song it was a depressing song. The whole plot of the story was depressing personally i would watch that kind of movie way to depressing. you would think that they wlud have maid the place where the living people lived would be in a happy invirment and you would get a good mood out of it and that when the movie goes to the underground and the dead village everything would have been dark but both of them were dark. the people that were underground were scary and creepy. the mood was sent out very well in this movie. now i wonder what the director had in mind when he wrote and directed this movie why he had some hatred in him.

  9. Katie Stevens. Period 4- Tim Burton is known for making unique, different, creepy and scary movies. The mood of the movie, "The Corpse Bride," made by Tim Burton had all of those characteristics. Tim Burton used different colors to make the movie like this. He added dark colors, which represented the mood. Also, Tim Burton used creepy characters to express the mood of the movie. The characters made it creepy because it made the movie look scarier. If he made the characters look happier and more friendly towards the readers view and in the movie, then the mood would have changed completely.

I believe that the mood that Tim Burton set in the movie, The Corpse Bride, was eerie and spooky. Tim Burton achieved this by his choice of sound, color, clothing, and the way that people looked. Burton illustrated sound with low and creepy sounding music playing from the piano, however when Burton wanted to achieve a lighter mood, he used happier and more upbeat music. Burton used blacks and whites when in the scenes of the alive world and used color where the dead people lived to show that they had music and they lived a happy life and can do what they wanted to, the black and white shows that in the alive world the people are prohibited to certain things that may make them happy such as music and who they wanted to marry. The clothing that the people in the alive world wore was very conservative and dull, and the clothing that the dead people wore were colorful and complex. Lastly, Burton showed that the alive people were different than the dead people by the way they looked. The alive people have solemn faces with little emotion, however the dead people clearly showed emotion and was different in where you could tell that they were dead, for instance when the Corpse Bride's eyes and arms kept on falling off. The overall mood of the movie, The Corpse Bride, were eerie and spooky.

  11. Nicole D'Annibale (pd 4) Tim Burton is known for making different and unique movies. The movie, "The Corpse Bride", had a dark and scary mood. Colors, sounds, and physical appearances were techniques used to achieve the job of revealing a mood and message to the viewers. Burton distorted people's bodies, faces and hair to make a unique and weird mood. Dark colors were used in all the different settings to create a gloomy and scary mood. Burton used black, red and white a lot. When he wanted to create a happy and fun mood, like in the underworld, Burton used bright colors. The sounds of Victor playing the piano were slow, calm and boring. In the real world, everything was dark and scary, but in the underworld, everything was happy, fast, and energetic even though they were all dead. By choosing specific appearances, sounds, and colors, Burton was able to create a mood for the movie and he used many techniques to achieve it.

Tim Burton usually makes his movies strange and "The Corpse Bride" was no exception. His description of the underworld and normal world were totally opposites of what we would think of them as. I don't know if this was done one purpose, but it added to the creepiness of the film. He used color and sound to convey this. For example, in the real world everything was in black and white. All of the people sounded stuffy and uptight. However, in the underworld, everything was bright and colorful. Everyone was loose and there was a lot of music. This might have been done to show the opposite of what most people think of these worlds to be. He also used the appearance of the people to create a spooky mood. He distorted the faces and bodies of the characters to show their true identity and to make the mood swing more in one way or another. By choosing different colors, sounds, and appearances through different parts of the movie, he was able to create a different mood for each part of the movie and make the viewer truly see the story of "The Corpse Bride" through his eyes.

  13. Ariel C period 6 - The movie "The Corpse Bride," had an eerie, dark feeling. The movie gave off this mood due to the lighting, sound and pictures that we saw. The lighting of most of the movie was dim and dark giving the viewer a spooked out feeling. However, the lighting gave off a different mood in the underworld where it was much brighter and more colorful. Usually people think of the underworld as dim and dark and the real world as happy but Tim Burton had different ideas. He is known for making movies with dark stories and this was no exception. The voices and noises of the movie also added to the mood. In the real world, many of the voices were loud and obnoxious and the songs were dark and dreary. In the underworld, the voices were much happier and friendlier and the songs were upbeat. The pictures also added to the mood. In both worlds, the people were ugly and creepy and it left the viewers kind of scared. The main mood and tone of the movie was scary and dark.

Tim Burton has had a tendency for being weird and eccentric. "The Corpse Bride" was a prime example. His perception of death, the underworld and ghost's, is far from what everyone else believes. For example, when i think underworld, i think sorrow, suffering, dull, etc. However in this story, he conveyed a sense of humor and an optimistic mood through out the story. One accurate aspect to this film was the costumes. Skeletons looked like skeletons, ghost's looked like ghost's and people, they too looked like people. Clearly he intended to make this an animation because if he didn't, then i guarantee you the movie would be more gloomy and erie. I believe that he was trying to appeal to the audience of 5 to 13, and he did a fine job in doing so.

  15. Tory T period 6-
Tim Burton uses the setting and characteristics to portray the mood in the movie. He uses dark lighting as a way to show the gloomy-ness of the town and its people. The movie at times seems as if it was in black and white. The main character, Victor, wore all black and had dark circles underneath his eyes. He was also very awkward around other people. Therefore it set the mood for the movie, because you could tell the characteristics for each character. The mood was obviously very dark until the end when Victor and Victoria get back together. Tim Burton wanted the video to be a scary story with a happy ending.

  16. Rebecca Oestreicher: Period 4-
Tim Burton, the director of the movie "The Corpse Bride" is a quirky odd man who grew up with a different lifestyle that made him love monsters and grave stones Which later in life transitioned to making and directing scary movies. During the movie it was intended to be creepy and scary with ghosts and monsters for halloween. Burton threw in bits of humor which made this movie appealing to little kids.
Sounds- The sounds in this movie definitely added to the tone of the movie, the screams and the creaky floor boards made it more of a scary movie.
Costumes- The costumes added to the mood, because none of them were bright colors and they were all down and depressing which made it give a dull vibe.
Images- The different images of the skeletons and the Corps Bride herself made it scary to little kids who are watching the movie.
Colors- The colors just like the costumes are dull and depressing. Nothing was happy which added a dull tone to the movie and made bright objects pop out.

  17. Nick F. Per. 3 - "The Corpse Bride" by Tim Burton conveys a dark and eerie tone and mood. He shows this by making all the scenes dark colors and the whole movie takes place at night. He also uses lighting to enhance the scariness of each scene. Most of the characters dressed in all black or all white, there were not many colored outfits in the movie. I also noticed that Tim Burton makes the movie a cartoon. This makes the movie more humorous and less scary. This movie is meant for children and I know this because the underworld is much less scary than I would think. There are ghosts and skeletons dancing and singing, but when I think of underworld I think dark, scary and dead people, I don't think people are singing and dancing in the underworld.

  18. Roma S. (pd. 4)……. “The Corpse Bride,” directed by Tim Burton, conveys a dreadful and creepy mood. When both families meet each other, the house of the rich family is dark and quiet. When they walk, there is an eerie echo and all you hear is the clacking of feet traveling from room to room. Colors that are presented in this movie are all deep tones that are very dark and gloomy. The main character, Victor, plays the piano soulfully although in a depressing feel. This reveals the tone of anguish and sadness through Victor’s actions. Each character has an oversized feature that represents them. For example, the mother has a huge head indicating that she is very cocky and looks down to inferiors. Another example is that the constable is shaped like a bell because he rings one whenever he brings news and the butler has an elevated nose which is clearly exaggerated, but true to the stereotype of butlers of that time. This is a creepy touch of symbolism, but it does create a weird and unusual mood which Burton is all about.

  19. Mike Salvatori - In the movie "The Corpse Bride" Tim Burton used many sounds, costumes, images and colors to show the intended mood. Two very different moods were set up to show the real world and undergorund. In the real world Tim Burton used many dark and dull colors to show the personality of the people. But underground the "people" were very up beat and used many more bright colors. The music in the real world was very low and scary compared to the music of the underground which was fast, loud and even funny. In the real world everyone was in black and white and had no personality in their clothing. In the underworld people wore very bright costumes that stuck out. Tim Burton has a very different perspective of the Real and Underground worlds. Tim Burton used these differences in mood and tone to show that the people who were alive seemed like they were dead and the dead people seemed like they werre alive. Tim Burton used these things very clearly to show a difference between the underground and the real world.

  20. Melanie Straface period6- The movie “The Corpse Bride” by Tim Burton had an overall creepy and depressing mood. Tim Burton used costumes, lighting, and sound to portray the mood of the movie. A lot of the people in the movie were wearing very dull and old fashioned outfits including Victor, the main character, who was wearing a ripped tuxedo. The lighting was also a big part of the mood. The lighting was dark to create a gloomy and creepy mood. Tim Burton used sound in his movie to establish which parts were creepy and which were happy. For example the underworld often had joyful and energetic music compared to the living world which had more depressing and creepy music. Tim Burton made the living world to be more creepy and depressing because the characters were strict and selfish. By having specific costumes, lighting, and sounds Tim Burton was able to create a mood for the movie.

  21. Dominique Loguidice (Period 4)
In the movie "The Corpse Bride" directed by Tim Burton, Burton made the mood have a strong presence throughout the development of the film. The overall mood was creepy and scary. In order to develop the mood of this film, Burton used the physical appearance of his strange characters and their landscapes. The characters were tall, skinny and overall abnormal compared to a normal person. The movie is mainly presented in dull colors such as gray, black, brown and dark shades. The settings of the movie also set the tone and mood. For example, Burton used scenery like big, gray, empty mansions as well as including a setting in a graveyard full of dead trees and cracked gravestones. The overall use of characters, setting and landscaping allowed Tim Burton to create a movie with a mood and tone like this.

  22. Conor McGillicuddy - Period 3 - Tim Burton uses color, sound and dress to create a unique mood. The overall color of the film is dark. There are many dark colors in the production and for key scenes, it is nighttime. The music of the movie has a dark, dramatic feel to it that sets the mood in a way that books cannot. There is usually dramatic, ominous noise playing when an ominous event is happening. The dress of the characters also contributes to the mood. The people dress with dark clothes and in a very formal way. This makes the setting appear to be in the 19th century and create a darker mood.

  23. Harrison Steins- Period 7- In the Movie "The Corpse Bride" Tim Burton uses many different colors, sounds, costumes to better portray the idea of the movie. In the movie he uses dark colors to show that the movie is supposed to be not very cheerful and happy. The human costumes are supposed to show that the parents and kids are very uptight and strict and then the skeleton costumes are showing how the dead people have more fun and can express themselves better. The music in the real world was very dull and dismal and then the music in the underground world was very upbeat and fast which would be an indicator of how different the two world were. The two worlds could almost be perceived as polar opposites. Where the real world is a dark gloomy place where everyone is sad and strict and where the underworld is a more alive (ironic) place in which people have fun going about their daily tasks. Although parts of the movie differ, the dull colors and sounds give the viewer a sense of a dark scary movie scene.

  24. Shannon Zuccarelli (period 6): In the movie "The Corpse Bride" Tim Burton uses different settings, colors, and sounds to make the reader have a certain mood while watching the movie. The movie had a dark tone of colors that gave off a sad, dreary feeling as you watched it. There were also many settings that took place in the woods at night, and places with the dead. There were also different types of background music playing as you watched the scenes. Having the combination of dark settings and dull music showed that Tim Burton was trying to make the mood creepy and scary looking. Tim's creation of this mood and tone best fitted with they story because it conveyed the right feeling of darkness to make the movie more realistic.

  25. Richard Hoffberg Period 3- The Corpse Bride by Tim Burton had strong senses of mood and tone. The dark scene that most of the movie takes place in gives a sad mood. Also the dark clothing and dreary, low noted music set a sad mood. I thought that the dark colors stood out usually cartoons have bright colors that a cheerful but Victor wasn't happy so the colors were dark. Also some slow classical music seemed like the story was going to be sad. Although that was usually the case when Victor was playing the Piano and when the skeleton told the Corpse Brides story the music was much nicer sounding.

  26. Kiana Comizio- Period 7- Throughout the movie "The Corpse Bride", Tim Burton uses various colors, costumes, images, and sounds to convey the tone and mood.
Overall the mood was dark and spooky. In order to portray the characters to set the eerie mood, Burton made the characters dressed in old fashion clothes, very pale and with made their body parts disproportional. For example they had very large heads, with big eyes yet they had little bodies.Their smiles were creepy, not happy. This all made the viewers feel that the movie was spooky. Burton also used sounds to convey mood. Throughout the movie during scary scenes there were flashes of lightning and creepy music. When Victor played piano in the living world it was dreary. The colors in used in the living world were dull and dark. But in the dead world the piano sounds more cheerful and less dull. The colors used were brighter. This sends the message that the after life is better. Tim Burton effectively set a spooky mood for the viewers.

  27. Daniel Quinn Period 4- "The Corpse Bride" by Tim Burton has a very dark and gloomy mood. In the movie, dark colors were used to make the movie seem scary, giving it the scary effect. Another thing that contributed to the mood was the plot. The skeleton's and the dead people made it seem scary as well. Also, the people in the movie weren't like people in real life. With the combination of the dark colors, it made the mood gloomy. The "underworld" was a contributer to the mood as well. The overall mood was scary, gloomy and dark.

  28. In the movie "The Corpse Bride," Tim Burton utilizes sound, color, and lightening to set a tone of the movie. The audience quickly picks up on the dull colors and oddly shaped people to acknowledge the eeriness of it all. The movie continues with dark and depressing piano playing in the real world while in the underworld, a huge aspect of the film- it is lively and fun. The underworld is full of colors and spunky music and crazy characters. The lighting above ground is dull and sinister like, casting creepy shadows meanwhile, in the land of the dead it's bright and somewhat inviting. The plot itself also conveyed a dark and mysterious message to the viewers, mostly based on bad feelings about a wedding and problems that arise along the way. The overall mood of this menacing film is gloomy. Tim Burton and his co-director effectively set the move of their film.

In "The Corpse Bride" by Tim Burton, the movie consists of similar colors, sounds, images and costumes to set a mood and tone. I think the mood was very gloomy and spooky. He made the characters look non-normal. They dressed in dark colored clothes and had unhappy faces and attitudes. The colors all around the houses and towns were dark and dull, such as navy, black, and gray. The music that was in the movie was spooky as well. The only happy part in the movie was when the main character was playing the piano, when the girl heard it it was like music to her ears it made her so happy in her dark unhappy society. Tim from what I saw, definietly got his message across that this movie wasn't suppose to cheer people up but to bring unhappy and sadness within them.

The mood of the movie was set as a very sad and depressing mood. The feeling that was given off the mood of the movie was and eerie and creepy feeling. The way the director was able to incorporate this feeling was by using very sad, dark and depressing feelings. The director also put in very sketchy and frightening music to give emphasis on how the character was feeling about his marriage with the dead bride. Another way the director set the mood was the way he had his artists create the characters clothing and looks. For example, the dead bride was dressed in a torn, ripped up dress with a queer blue color for her face. She also had a very boney and lifeless body since she is suppose to be dead. For the guy he face was a very upset looking face and his tuxedo wasn’t a very nice looking tuxedo. These are all example of how Tim Burton set and depressing and sad mood for the movie

In the movie "The Corpse Bride" by tim Burton, the mood and tone of the movie was shown in many different ways. One of the ways was that he used sound to display the mood of the movie by using happy, sad, scary songs, etc. He also used different types of colors but mainly dark ones to show that the movie isnt a 24/7 happy movie. Instaed the colors showed that it was mainly a creepy, sad, and non happy movie for the majority of it. Tim also used images to show that it wasnt a real movie. It was an annimated movie and the vents could not take place in real life. The voices of the characters set the tone of the movie as a sad, creepy, and upsetting movie at first. But at the end, the tone changed to a happy tone. I would say that the overall tone/mood of the movie was a creepy, unhappy, and gloomy

The music in the movie was very spooky and mysterious as well, there were pops outs in the movie when the bride grabbed the mans hand. One way that Tim Burton and the directors used scary looking dead characters to help set the dark mood. Also, the movie was in black and white at first which made the movie depressing and dark. The directors used music to influence the mood of the movie because the music was very depressing sounding as well. Also, there were parts in the movie where there would be tense music and then someone would pop out. The characters in the movie were also very sad looking when the man admitted to marrying a dead girl by accident as oppose to his intended bride. The characters were scary and had different body shapes which added to the tone. He also made the mood joyful by going into the underground. In the underground it was colorful and made the viewer change his mood to feeling happy. Tim also used music to change the mood in the underground by making the music cheerful, loud, and funny. The characters in the underground were scary, but had a fun and exciting personality. In "The Corpse Bride," Tim made two different moods by using different methods.

In the movie “The Corpse Bride”, by Tim Burton, there was definitely a feeling of creepiness conveyed throughout the story. Tim Burton accomplishes this by having the lighting be dark and neutral colors instead of many bright colors that give a positive feeling. These colors were able to create an eerie atmosphere. In addition, the costumes that the characters wear are old-fashioned and formal. These formal suits and dresses have dark colors patterned in to them and the accessories worn are not common. The images that are present include a creepy mansion with a random piano in the hall and pictures of frowning ancestors lining the walls. When the protagonist travels in to the woods he is greeted by many dark trees at night with a suspicious wind blowing. The corpse bride appears out of the ground and drags him in to the underworld, where all the dead are. When these images are combined it makes the viewer feel uneasy about what is about to happen next and become scared. The music during the movie is very light with a creepy rhythm in the background to emphasize the mood of the story Tim Burton has created. All of these elements combined can make the mood dark, mysterious, and depressing.

  37. Kyle Lometti.. Period 3. In the Movie "The Corpse Bride" by Tim Burton the mood in the movie is very dark and gloomy. Tim achieved this theme by only incorporating dark colors in the film. There are no bright vibrant colors used in the film, this creates a gloomy and ominous theme. He also used the characters to make the theme sad. There are no happy characters in the movie. All of the characters in the film are very solemn and serious. Tim also uses music to create a sad theme. The music used is very soft and slow and seems like the music that would be played at a funeral. He also creates a very happy and uplifting theme in the dead people world by incorporating bright colors, happy uplifting and even comical people. Also the music used in the dead people world was very fast and happy music with singing. All of these components create a happy mood

Corpse Bride has a depressing theme to it. The main colours in the human world are gray or other gloomy colours while the people who live in it have strict faces. However in the dead world, the colours are more happier. Tim Burton chose to use brighter colours. The music in the human world is very soft and sad yet the music in the dead world is loud and happy. This may suggest that Burton views the human world as a tough and sad place and views the dead world as a happier place.

In “The Corpse Bride” by Tim Burton, music, color, lighting and just general appearances of the characters were used in a specific way to convey a certain mood. The general setting in the movie was dark, lonely, and depressing. The colors were all in a gray tone- making everything seem more gloomy and creepy. The music was slow, deep, loud, and low-toned, creating a scary and sad feeling to the scenes. The characters were all very pale and tired-looking and their apparel was old-fashioned and dark, making them unusual and scary. There were more colors and more exciting music in the dead world, making the living world scarier, showing the authors negative perspective on life.

The mood of the movie, “The Corpse Bride”, by Tim Burton, had a very hurrendous and depressing theme . The colors used were black and grey which usually resemble gloomy feelings. The characters were very old and worn out looking which made them seem scary. All of the music was slow which added a creepy vibe to it. Then when it showed the dead world, it almost seemed more happier and less frightening then the real world. The author/director was probably trying to send the readers/viewers the message that life is a scary place and can be very terrifying. That you "afterlife" is more heavenly then your life can be on real earth.

  41. Nicolette Forgione Period 3 - While watching the movie, "The Corpse Bride" by Tim Burton, I noticed that he used a lot of dull and dark colors to express the different moods in the movie. The specific colors that were used throughout the movie were black and grey which helped make the movie seem sort of scary and glum. The characters in the movie were old and there were no young kids. Their clothes were more proper and old fashioned than modern. The music that was played during the movie was slow and reminded me of the music that gets played in scary movies. In comparison, the dead world seemed more of a happy and cheerful place than the read world. The music had a more up-lifting spirit in the dead world compared to the music that was played in the scenes in the real world. The dead world had brighter colors and everyone there seemed happy and no one looked sad or angry. This shows Tim Burton's negative perspective on life and shows that he thinks that after life is happier and more peaceful than reality.

  42. Jillian Roos; Period 4. In the movie that we reviewed in class, "The Corpse Bride," had a consistant theme of , gray colors, dark animations, and drearness. This movie was animated like a childs movie but had a different twist. Almost like Tim Burton was showing us a secret message. When the main character 'Jack' accidently proposes to a dead women he gets taken into the dead world. In the dead world the color changes into something more brighter. As almost Jack's accident was ment to be beucase thigns were more happier there. I think Tim Burton had a secret message to us showing that the real world is filled with sad, negative people. However, the dead souls are more care free, kind and happier than most people will be. Which is somewhat a twisted message saying that most people living don't realize the beauty of life and are always complaing. However, in the dead world people cherish things more often and realize that they might as well be happy then live a long sad life.

  43. Jackie Dalfonso. Period 6- in the movie "Corpse bride" the mood was very dark. Like the cartoon itself seemed like it was depressing. The colors of everyone were dark, or grey. more like black and white.Tim Burton wanted to show there was alot of negative energy in this story; you have the bride that was murdered before she got married; the bad luck of the groom, accidently practicing his vows on a stick that looks like a hand. everything and everyone that is alive are negative and mean; but in the after life everyone is free and happy. I think Tim Burton's point is to let life come and deal with things one step at a time.

  44. Scott Bartman, Period 4-
When Tim Burton made the movie "Corpse Bride" He strived to make the movie very dark. He consistantly used dark colors to give it a scary feel. He had the costumes have dark colors and the clothing was the clothing you would have worn a long time ago. Above ground it was much darker then bellow ground probably because the dead had happy thoughts and were much less stressed then the living people.
